Terms of use

The simulator and its tips come from a simplified model. They are a guide, not a measurement, and we give no guarantee about the result in your cup. Use your own judgement; the taste decides. See How we measure.

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• Give a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
• Your display name may be a pseudonym, but it must not impersonate anyone.

Extractions, comments, photos and coffees you add stay yours. When you make something public, you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, show and adapt it (for example resize a photo) inside the app, for as long as it is public. The licence ends when you delete it or make it private, except for anonymous totals already calculated.

You can delete your content at any time, and your whole account in My account. Only post photos and text you have the right to share.

• Illegal, hateful, violent, sexual or harassing content; personal data of other people.
• Spam, advertising unrelated to coffee, fake extractions meant to mislead.
• Breaking, overloading or scraping the app, or getting around plan limits.

Anyone can report a coffee or a photo. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, and we tell you when we do, unless the law forbids it.

Only someone who works for a roastery or café may claim it. We check the claim, for example by the business email on the website's domain, and may refuse or remove it. A verified business is responsible for the recipes, descriptions and links it publishes. We may remove the verification if a claim turns out to be wrong.

Free costs nothing. It includes 1 coffee from each roaster (the number may change and is shown on Pricing), the simulators without limit, up to 5 saved extractions, adding coffees by link, and a limited view of the community: counts, the taste split, medians and the 3 latest shots of a coffee. Equipment, water, notes, photos, charts and the full list of other members' extractions, and adding coffees by hand, are part of the paid plans. If you are over the saved-extraction limit, you keep your extractions but cannot save new ones until you are under it. Paid plans are shown on Pricing, in euro. Member and Café plan prices include VAT; the Roaster plan price excludes VAT. Payments are not open yet; during the test, plans are switched by the team.

When payments open, a plan renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel any time; you keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for. We announce price changes at least 30 days before they apply to you.

As a consumer in the EU you have 14 days from buying a plan to withdraw without giving a reason, by writing to istvan.zsigmond@112coffee.com. We refund within 14 days.

Because a plan gives you digital features straight away, at checkout we will ask you to agree that access starts immediately and to acknowledge that you then lose the right of withdrawal. Without that agreement, access starts after the 14 days.

We suggest gear, coffees and workshops based on your answers to the setup questions. Some suggestions are paid placements by brands or shops and are always labelled "Sponsored"; products sold by 112 Coffee are labelled "From the 112 Coffee shop". Some links are sponsored or earn us a commission. We only list gear we would use ourselves.

You buy from the seller on their own site and under their terms; we are not a party to that purchase. Recommendations are suggestions only, and we never change your plan because of them.

We build the app with care but provide it as it is, and it may sometimes be unavailable. We are not liable for indirect damage, lost coffee or equipment use based on the simulator. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

Romanian law applies. Disputes go to the competent courts in Romania; as a consumer you may also use the courts where you live, and you keep the protection of the law of your country.

When we change these terms in a way that matters, we tell you in the app and ask you to accept them again. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
